Privacy policy

Amazing Home Inc ("AmazingHome", "we") makes the AmazingHome app and this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we keep the record of your home so you can use it, we don't sell it, and we don't show you ads.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and your name if you choose to give it. If you sign in with a password, we store only a one-way hash of it, never the password itself. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and, if you allow it, your name and email — which may be a private relay address Apple creates for you.
- Your home's record. The address and details of properties you add, the equipment you record (such as make, model, serial number, filter size and dates), service history, and emergency details like where utilities shut off.
- Questions you ask. When you ask about your home, your question and the relevant parts of your record are used to produce an answer. We don't keep a history of those conversations.
- Room photos and their looks. If you use Make It Amazing, the photo of the room you take and the looks we make from it. See Photos of rooms and When you share a room below.
- Usage records. We record that an AI feature was used and how much processing it took, so we can operate plan limits. These records don't contain the content of your questions or photos.
- How the app is used. We record events such as a screen being opened or how long a look took to create, in our own systems. They contain no photos, addresses or anything you typed, and we don't use a third-party analytics service.
- Technical information. Standard server information such as the time of a request and whether it succeeded. We don't write the contents of your requests — your address, your records or your questions — into our logs.
Photos of equipment labels
We read label photos and then discard them.
When you photograph an equipment label, the image is resized on your phone, sent to us to read the details, and discarded once they've been read. It isn't stored and isn't added to your record. Anything we read is shown to you as a suggestion, and nothing is saved until you confirm it.
Photos of rooms
We keep room photos so you can come back to them — and you can delete them at any time.
When you use Make It Amazing, we keep the photo of the room and the looks we make from it, so you can compare them, come back to them and save them to your home. They are private to you unless you choose to share a room, which is described below.
Before a room photo is stored or sent anywhere, we remove the location data your phone adds to photos, so it doesn't record where it was taken.
To make the looks, the photo is sent to Google's image model. Google processes it for us under terms in which it does not use it to improve its products.
You can delete a room and all of its looks from the app whenever you like. If you try Make It Amazing without an account, the photo and its looks are deleted automatically after 30 days unless you create an account to keep them. Deleting your account deletes all of them.
When you share a room
Sharing a room makes a link. Anyone who has the link can see that room — and nothing else.
If you ask friends to choose between your looks, we make a link and you decide who to send it to. We don't email anyone, and we don't publish it.
What someone with the link sees: the photo of that room, the looks made from it, and the name you gave the room — "Kitchen", say.
What they never see: your address, your name, your email, any other room, and anything else in your home's record. Your address is not in the link or on the page at any point.
We ask search engines not to index shared rooms, and the page tells them not to. We can't promise what a person you send the link to does with it afterwards, which is the same as for anything else you send someone.
The link stops working. It expires by itself after 14 days, and you can turn it off in the app at any moment before that — immediately, including the photos. A link that has been turned off or has expired shows nothing at all.
Voting is anonymous. A friend does not need an account to vote and we do not ask who they are. We don't record their name, their email or their IP address. Their browser keeps a random value so that changing their mind replaces their vote instead of adding one; it identifies a vote, not a person, and we store it only as an unreadable hash. You see how many people voted for each look, never who they were.
How we use information
- To provide the app: storing your home's record, reading labels, answering questions, making the room looks you ask for and showing maintenance reminders.
- To understand which parts of the app are used and where they're slow, from our own records.
- To keep your account secure, including limiting repeated failed sign-in attempts.
- To operate plan limits and understand the cost of running the service.
- To respond when you contact us.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run AmazingHome, and only to the extent they need to do that work:
- Hosting and databases, where your account and home record are stored.
- AI service providers, which process information on our behalf to produce a result: Anthropic reads label photos and answers questions, and Google makes looks from room photos. Neither uses what we send to improve its products. Our credentials for these services exist only on our servers, never in the app.
- Apple, if you choose Sign in with Apple.
- Email, when you write to us.
Businesses we partner with — such as real estate or property management companies — never receive your address, equipment, records or account details. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Emergency information
Details like where your water, gas and power shut off are available to you on every plan. They're never used to show you offers or recommendations.
Keeping, correcting and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. You can correct your home's record in the app at any time.
You can delete your account in the app, under Account. That deletes your account, your homes' records, and your room photos and looks. A home you share with someone else stays in their account. You can also email hello@amazinghome.com from the address on your account and we'll do it for you and confirm when it's done.
Security
Connections to our service are encrypted. Sign-in credentials on your phone are stored in the iOS Keychain, and sessions can be revoked. No system is perfectly secure, but we design around protecting the details of where you live.
Children
AmazingHome isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or third-party trackers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
